Immune cell therapy could replace harsh antivirals for transplant patients

Summary
This study tests whether giving specially trained donor immune cells (VSTs) on a schedule can prevent or better treat viral infections after a stem cell transplant. About 180 participants will be randomly assigned to receive VSTs either as a preventive measure or only when an infection appears. The goal is to reduce the need for strong antiviral drugs that can damage kidneys or lower blood counts.
