Immune cell therapy aims to tame Post-Transplant viral infections

NCT ID NCT04230356

First seen Mar 15, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving specially trained donor immune cells (VSTs) on a schedule can prevent or better treat viral infections after a stem cell transplant. About 180 participants will be randomly assigned to receive VSTs either as a preventive measure or only when an infection appears. The goal is to reduce the need for harsh antiviral drugs and hospital stays.
