VR boosts memory of therapy skills in student trial

NCT ID NCT07270107

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tested whether using a virtual reality (VR) headset could help physiotherapy students learn the Bobath concept, a method for treating people with brain or nerve conditions. Twenty third-year students were split into two groups: one learned through VR and the other through a regular class. Both groups scored similarly on tests right after training, but the VR group remembered the practical skills better two weeks later. The findings suggest VR is a useful tool for teaching hands-on therapy techniques.
