VR goggles may soothe dental fears in deaf children

NCT ID NCT07245030

First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether using virtual reality (VR) goggles during a dental cleaning can reduce anxiety and improve behavior in children with hearing loss. About 54 children will either get the standard Show-Do technique (where the dentist explains and demonstrates) or VR goggles plus Show-Do. The goal is to find a better way to help these kids have a calmer dental visit.
