First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests whether a virtual reality (VR) training program helps healthcare providers better discuss suicide prevention and safe storage of firearms and medications with rural Veterans. About 36 providers will be randomly assigned to either VR training or a 2D video training. Researchers will measure changes in confidence, comfort, and intention to use these counseling skills through surveys before, after, and three months later.
