First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether a virtual reality (VR) training program can help healthcare providers feel more confident and comfortable talking about suicide prevention and safe storage of firearms and medications with rural Veterans. About 36 providers will be randomly assigned to either a VR training or a 2D video training, and their skills will be measured through surveys before, after, and three months later. The goal is to see if VR is a better way to prepare providers for these important conversations.
