Can a cheap VR headset help stroke survivors move again?

NCT ID NCT06864741

First seen Mar 22, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests whether a low-cost virtual reality (VR) system can help people recover arm movement after a first-time stroke. Forty adults with moderate to severe arm weakness will either receive standard therapy or add VR sessions using fun, game-like activities. Researchers will measure motor function, motion sickness, and how much patients enjoy the therapy to see if VR is a practical option for home and hospital use.
