First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tested whether using a VR headset with calming environments and breathing exercises could help patients relax and feel less pain after laparoscopic colorectal surgery. Ten adults were split into two groups: one used the VR headset twice daily for up to five days, and the other did not. Researchers measured pain and anxiety scores and how much pain medicine was needed to see if VR made a difference.
