First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested whether using a VR headset with calming scenes and breathing exercises could help people relax and feel less pain after planned colon surgery. Ten adults took part; half used the VR headset twice a day for up to five days, and the other half did not. Researchers measured pain and anxiety levels daily and checked how much pain medicine was needed. The goal was to see if VR is a practical and helpful tool for recovery after surgery.
