First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests whether a virtual reality (VR) gardening program can help older adults with mild depression (subthreshold depression) feel better without medication. About 36 people aged 60 and older will use a VR headset to plant and tend a virtual garden. The goal is to see if this fun, low-cost activity reduces depressive symptoms and improves well-being.
