VR goggles calm nerves before anesthesia
NCT ID NCT06823141
Summary
This small pilot study explored whether using virtual reality (VR) goggles during the pre-surgery oxygen-breathing period could help reduce patient anxiety. Researchers enrolled 46 adults having elective surgery to test if VR immersion was practical and if it lowered anxiety levels. They measured anxiety, comfort, and side effects like motion sickness to see if this approach could be easily implemented in hospitals.
