VR goggles tested to ease Pre-Surgery jitters
NCT ID NCT06823141
Summary
This small pilot study explored whether using a virtual reality (VR) headset could help reduce anxiety in adult patients during the 'pre-oxygenation' step just before they go under general anesthesia for elective surgery. Researchers wanted to see if the VR experience was practical, comfortable for both patients and the medical team, and actually helped lower anxiety levels. The study involved 46 patients and measured their anxiety, comfort, and vital signs at different points.
