Virtual reality tackles teen trauma shame
NCT ID NCT06384508
Summary
This study tested a short virtual reality (VR) program designed to help teens who have experienced sexual abuse. The goal was to see if using VR could reduce feelings of shame related to their trauma and improve their self-compassion. Six Dutch-speaking adolescents, aged 12-17 and already in standard PTSD treatment, tried the VR program to see if it was a helpful addition to their regular therapy.
