Scientists test if VR can make you forget pain

NCT ID NCT07183839

Summary

This University of Washington study tested whether immersive virtual reality could reduce pain and affect memory during simple tasks. Twenty psychology students completed word recall exercises and received brief heat pain, with and without VR headsets. Researchers measured how many words people remembered and how much pain and distraction they felt in each situation.
