This study tested whether using immersive virtual reality (VR) could help reduce pain and anxiety during a brief heat stimulus, and also affect how well people remember words. Researchers compared VR to a standard distraction method. The goal was to understand how VR might be used to make uncomfortable medical procedures easier.
