VR goggles aim to calm nerves and ease pain for knee surgery patients
NCT ID NCT07247903
Summary
This study is testing whether using virtual reality (VR) goggles to educate patients before knee replacement surgery can help. Researchers want to see if watching an animated video about the procedure reduces fear before surgery and pain afterwards, compared to standard clinic education. The study will involve 70 patients who are randomly assigned to either try the VR education or receive the usual care.
