First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests an experimental drug called VP-001 for people with a rare inherited eye disease that causes vision loss (retinitis pigmentosa linked to the PRPF31 gene). The drug is injected into the eye and aims to slow or stop further vision decline. Sixteen adults who have already received VP-001 in earlier studies will receive two different doses to check safety and whether it helps preserve eyesight over about two years.
