Surgical upgrade aims to prevent prolapse after hysterectomy
NCT ID NCT07413861
First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests a new surgical method that combines a hysterectomy with a step to support the top of the vagina, aiming to prevent future pelvic organ prolapse. About 50 women having a hysterectomy for non-cancer reasons will take part. The approach uses a special camera through the vagina to add a support stitch, which may reduce the risk of prolapse without making the surgery much longer.
