First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests a new surgical method that reattaches a key support ligament during a minimally invasive hysterectomy to prevent the vagina from later slipping down (prolapse). About 50 women having hysterectomy for non-cancer reasons will be randomly assigned to get the extra support step or not. The goal is to see if the added step is safe and effective without making the surgery much longer.
