New nose procedure could rival surgery for blocked breathing

NCT ID NCT06922955

First seen Oct 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study compares a new procedure called VivAer to standard surgery (functional rhinoplasty or septoplasty) for treating nasal airway obstruction, a condition that makes breathing through the nose difficult. About 400 adults aged 22 to 85 with severe symptoms will take part. The goal is to see if VivAer works as well as surgery to improve breathing and reduce symptoms like snoring or daytime sleepiness.
