Vitamin D's hidden role in TB and fungal lung disease revealed

NCT ID NCT07516158

First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether vitamin D levels are linked to certain immune markers in people with active tuberculosis (TB), with or without a chronic fungal lung infection called aspergillosis. Researchers will compare blood samples from 300 participants—including healthy volunteers—to see if low vitamin D is tied to stronger or weaker immune responses. No new treatments are tested; the goal is to better understand how these conditions affect the body.
