Gum fluid test could spot implant disease before it starts
NCT ID NCT07280754
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looks at whether vitamin D and a natural germ-fighting protein (LL-37) in the fluid around dental implants can help diagnose gum disease early. Researchers will compare levels in 72 adults with healthy implants, mild gum inflammation (mucositis), or more serious infection (peri-implantitis). The goal is to find simple markers that lead to earlier treatment and lower costs.
