Summary

This study aims to understand if a common pain-relief gas (MEOPA) used in hospitals affects vitamin B12 levels in children with sickle cell disease during painful episodes. Researchers will measure vitamin B12 and related substances in the blood and urine of 29 children during and after their hospital stay. The goal is to gather information to see if certain children are at higher risk for vitamin deficiency from the gas.
