Small trial paves way for future orbital cellulitis treatment study
NCT ID NCT07345819
First seen Jan 16, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This pilot study aims to see if a larger clinical trial comparing dexamethasone to a placebo for children hospitalized with orbital cellulitis can be done successfully. About 30 children and teens will take part to check if enough patients can be recruited, if the treatment can be given correctly, and if all needed data can be collected. The results will help design a future definitive trial to determine if dexamethasone is better than placebo for this condition.
