Cancer-Fighting virus tested in patients with Tough-to-Treat colon cancer

NCT ID NCT05733611

Summary

This study tested a new combination treatment for advanced colorectal cancer that had stopped responding to standard therapies. It involved injecting a genetically engineered virus directly into tumors, along with two other drugs (atezolizumab and bevacizumab), to try to kill cancer cells and boost the immune system's attack. The trial was terminated early after enrolling only 5 participants, so its effectiveness remains unknown.
