Donor cells take on viruses in transplant patients
NCT ID NCT03665675
First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This early-phase study tests whether specially trained white blood cells from a donor can safely control or clear cytomegalovirus (CMV) or adenovirus infections in people who have had a stem cell or solid organ transplant. About 20 participants will receive these virus-fighting cells and be monitored for side effects and infection response. The goal is to manage the virus without relying on long-term antiviral drugs.
