Can online exercise help kids recover after a stem cell transplant?
NCT ID NCT05943964
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Sep 17, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether a virtual exercise program can help children and young adults (ages 8-23) recover physical function and quality of life after a stem cell transplant. Participants will have twice-weekly, 30-minute online sessions with a physical therapist for 12 weeks. The main goal is to see if the program is practical and whether patients stick with it.

- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could offer a convenient, home-based way to help young transplant patients regain strength and improve their quality of life.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small pilot study with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. It focuses on feasibility, not on proving the program works better than standard care.
