VR beats study buddies: nursing students learn faster in virtual world

Summary
This study tested whether immersive virtual reality (I-VR) or peer-assisted small-group practice is better for teaching nursing students how to perform a respiratory system physical exam. 76 second-year nursing students took part. Both methods improved knowledge and skills, but the VR group showed significantly greater gains. The VR approach was also rated highly for usability.
