VR training boosts Street-Crossing skills for low vision patients

Summary

This study tested whether virtual reality (VR) training can help people with low vision learn important street-crossing and navigation skills. 117 participants were split into three groups: one trained with a VR system, one with a human instructor on real streets, and one watched educational videos. Their real-world performance was measured before, right after, and 3 months after training. The goal was to see if VR training could be as effective as in-person instruction.
