Virtual forest walk eases toenail surgery jitters, study says

NCT ID NCT07214116

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study tests whether watching an educational video before surgery, plus using virtual reality (a 360° forest walk) or calming music during the procedure, can lower anxiety and pain for people having ingrown toenail surgery. About 175 adults will be split into three groups: one gets the video and VR, another gets the video and music, and a third gets standard care. The goal is to find simple, drug-free ways to make the experience less stressful.
