VR headsets bring calm and brain games to ICU patients

NCT ID NCT06876168

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study explores whether virtual reality (VR) can help patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) feel more relaxed, improve their mood, and keep their minds active. About 32 adults with acute respiratory failure or sepsis will use VR for 15–45 minutes each day for up to 5 days. The goal is to see if VR is easy to use and can support emotional well-being during a stressful hospital stay.
