First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests whether using a virtual reality program (HypnoVR®) can help reduce discomfort for patients in the surgical intensive care unit (ICU) after major heart, chest, or abdominal surgery. About 194 adults will be randomly assigned to either receive virtual reality sessions twice a day during their ICU stay or standard care. The goal is to see if VR can ease symptoms like pain, anxiety, and thirst, and improve overall comfort.
