First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tested whether using virtual reality (VR) to show a 3D simulation of a heart catheterization could lower anxiety before the procedure. 180 adults having their first heart catheterization were split into two groups: one got standard education, the other got standard education plus a VR experience. Researchers measured anxiety levels using a standard questionnaire to see if VR made a difference.
