Virtual reality and exercise show promise in curbing alcohol relapse

Summary

This study tested a new approach to help people with alcohol addiction avoid relapse. 135 patients were split into two groups: one received standard care, the other added six sessions of virtual reality mindfulness and six sessions of bike riding with brain games. The goal was to see if this enriched environment reduced heavy drinking over 3.5 months.
