VR and playtime beat dentist jitters in kids, study finds

NCT ID NCT07375056

First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looked at two fun ways to help children aged 6 to 9 feel less scared and hurt during their first dental visit. One group played with toy dental tools, another used virtual reality glasses, and a third got standard care. The goal was to see if these activities before numbing shots could lower anxiety and pain. Results will show which method works best for a calmer dentist trip.
