First seen Apr 19, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding virtual reality (VR) nature experiences to standard depression treatment improves mood and reduces symptoms. 45 adults with mild to moderate depression were randomly assigned to a high-tech VR, a simple VR, or standard care alone for three weeks. Researchers measured changes in depression, anxiety, and motivation to be active outdoors.
