Virtual coach aims to bridge kidney transplant knowledge gap
NCT ID NCT06841016
Summary
This study tested a conversational virtual healthcare agent designed to educate patients with advanced chronic kidney disease and their caregivers about kidney transplantation. The tool provided information from the National Kidney Foundation and was tailored to address the specific needs and concerns of patients, particularly Black Americans who face higher rates of kidney disease. Researchers measured whether using the virtual agent changed patients' intention to consider or discuss getting a kidney transplant.
