Could common viruses trigger mental health crises? massive study investigates
NCT ID NCT07453420
Summary
This study aims to understand if having certain viral infections increases a person's risk of developing a mental illness or having a relapse of an existing condition. Researchers will analyze health records from over 100,000 people in Israel to look for patterns. They want to see if infections like COVID-19, Epstein-Barr virus, or herpes are linked to the onset or worsening of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia.
