Dry eye relief showdown: which treatment wins?

NCT ID NCT05577910

First seen Apr 02, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tested three treatments for a common cause of dry eye—clogged oil glands in the eyelids. 374 adults with mild-to-moderate disease received either a warm compress, a device that pulses heat and massages the eyelids, or light therapy combined with gland expression. The goal was to see which approach improves tear film stability and symptoms most effectively over 15 months.
