Camera vs. mirror: which gives surgeons a better view for breathing tube surgery?

NCT ID NCT05416489

Summary

This study aims to find out if using a video camera (videolaryngoscopy) is better than using a standard mirror (direct laryngoscopy) to help position a breathing tube during a specific type of neck surgery called a percutaneous tracheostomy. The surgery is performed on 90 adult ICU patients who need a long-term breathing tube. Researchers will compare how well each method helps surgeons see and avoid accidentally puncturing the breathing tube during the procedure.
