Video camera vs. direct view: which is safer for ICU tracheostomy?

NCT ID NCT05416489

Summary

This study compares two ways doctors look at the airway when moving a breathing tube during a tracheostomy procedure in the ICU. It aims to see if using a video camera (videolaryngoscopy) is better than the traditional direct view method for correctly placing the tube and avoiding accidental punctures. The goal is to make this common procedure safer and easier for critically ill patients who need a long-term breathing tube.
