Schizophrenia patients watch own crisis video to boost self-awareness

Summary
This study tested whether patients with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder could gain better insight into their illness by watching a video of themselves recorded during an acute episode. 60 hospitalized patients were randomly assigned to either watch the video after stabilization or receive standard care. The goal was to see if this simple, low-cost tool could improve awareness of their condition, symptoms, and treatment adherence.
