First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding video game-based balance exercises (using a Wii console and Balance Board) to standard treatment can improve symptoms and pelvic floor muscle function in children aged 5-12 with lower urinary tract dysfunction. Thirty children will be randomly assigned to either the video game group or standard care alone for 8 weeks. Researchers will measure bladder function, balance, and quality of life to see if the fun approach makes a difference.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
video game-based balance exercises using Wii console and Balance Board
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a fun, engaging way to improve bladder control and balance in children with lower urinary tract dysfunction.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 30 children, so results may not apply to everyone. The added benefit of video games over standard care alone is uncertain.
