Can a simple video ease the agony of a Child's medical emergency?

NCT ID NCT07409220

Summary

This study is testing if showing parents a short video explaining a spinal tap (lumbar puncture) helps them feel more comfortable agreeing to the procedure for their child. Researchers will compare parents who see the video plus get standard verbal counseling to those who only get the verbal counseling. The goal is to see if the video leads to more parents consenting to this important diagnostic test when their child is suspected of having a serious brain infection (meningitis).
