Shake and step: vibration therapy boosts balance in overweight young adults

NCT ID NCT07556198

First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether standing on a vibrating platform while doing foot exercises could improve ankle strength, balance, and body awareness in overweight and obese young adults (ages 18-35). Twenty-six people completed 24 supervised sessions over 8 weeks. The results suggest this combination may help improve stability and muscle control, which could reduce fall risk.
