New mindful therapy aims to help veterans break pain and opioid cycle

NCT ID NCT04648228

Summary

This study is testing a 3-month telehealth therapy program for veterans who have both chronic pain and opioid use disorder. The goal is to see if a combination of mindfulness and acceptance-based therapy is better than basic education at reducing how much pain interferes with daily life and at lowering the risk of opioid misuse. All participants are veterans already taking buprenorphine medication and will be followed for a year after the therapy ends.
