Could a tiny aspirin dose plus a blood thinner be safer for heart patients?
NCT ID NCT04990791
First seen Feb 22, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a very low dose of aspirin taken twice daily, combined with a blood thinner called rivaroxaban, works better than standard aspirin doses in people with chronic coronary syndromes. 48 adults already on daily aspirin were given different combinations of aspirin and rivaroxaban for two weeks each. Researchers measured bleeding time, blood clotting, and inflammation markers to compare the effects. The goal was to gather information, not to treat or cure the condition.
