First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tests whether an 8-week very low-calorie diet (800-960 calories per day) can reduce liver fat and scarring in 20 adults with obesity and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Participants are randomly assigned to the diet or a lower-calorie control group. The goal is to see if this diet can be an effective, non-surgical option for managing NAFLD.
