ICU study tests how to best gauge a Patient's breathing strength
NCT ID NCT02939963
Summary
This study aimed to understand which of two common breathing tests gives a more accurate picture of a patient's own breathing strength when they are ready to come off a ventilator. Researchers compared the standard test used in their ICU with a newer, automated method available on some machines. The goal was to gather knowledge about how much effort each test requires from the patient, not to test a new treatment.
