First seen Jan 27, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests two methods to strengthen breathing muscles in patients with respiratory failure who are on a ventilator. One method slowly increases the effort needed to trigger a breath, while the other gradually lowers the breathing support. The goal is to see which approach helps patients wean off the ventilator and breathe independently more successfully. The study will include 60 adults aged 40-55 who are stable and conscious.
